Pink Mary Janes

A gal I go to church with is having a baby girl in May. I had bought an outfit a while back and wanted to make a pair of shoes to match it. I love the way they turned out. Very simple, but so adorable. The shower was last night so I finally gave them to her so I can now share the design with you!

Spring Wreath

I have been dying to try and make a yarn wreath for a while now. I needed a new spring wreath for our front door so I thought I would give it a try! Here is the final product.

Easter Decor

Last week I was looking in Women's Day magazine and saw an idea similar to this that I just fell in love with. So, I set out to get all the stuff to try and make these mod podge eggs. But the one problem I kept running into was that I could not find white plastic easter eggs at any store. I checked all the crafts stores in the area and nobody had anything similar. I saw them online but they were sold in a pack of 144, way more than I needed! Plus, I would of spent $16 after shipping cost was added in. So, I attempted to use colored eggs and they just did not turn out, you could always slightly see the color from the egg show through. Finally I thought of trying to spray paint the colored eggs white. And it worked!! I was so excited.

Here is what you need for this project:

Plastic Easter Eggs - white or colored and use primer spray paint to make them white

Paper Napkins (I bought mine at Target)

Mod Podge

Paint Brush

Drying Rack

Scissors

 This picture was snapped after I spray the first coat of paint on the eggs. I ended up spraying 3 coats on the eggs to really cover them.

I cut the napkins into diamond shapes to prepare to put them on the egg. 

I painted the mod podge onto the egg and placed the diamond on the egg and then painted over it again with the mod podge. I did one half of the egg at a time, let that dry and then finished the rest. I used a cooling rack to let them dry on.

Once they were completely dry I put them in my glass apothecary with some green grass at the bottom.

Love it!

One thing that you could do as well with these eggs is use an exacto knife to cut the eggs so that they still could be opened up. They would make cute favors or place settings for your Easter dinner.

Step Stool Makeover

A while back when browsing Goodwill I came across this stool. It was only $2.99 but of course I hated the way it was painted and it was in pretty bad shape. Nothing a little paint can't fix! It took me several months to make time to finally get around to it, but I finally got it done. I used cream colored spray paint, a brown paint pen for the detail work and then covered it with a clear gloss finish.

This Post is SUPER Late

I just came across these pictures of Kora's Valentine's while I was downloading some others and thought I would share. I know it is super late, but I just love them!

I used to sell Close to My Heart products so I have lots of stamping supplies and I love getting use out of them! I love these type writer key stamps that I used for the word LOVE, isn't that so fun!? So Kora got to give these out to her cousins and grandparents, attached to them is a yummy brownie.

Our Lil' Monkey

This baby boy is a mover! I love feeling the baby kicks in my belly, nothing is more reasuring to an expecting mom than feeling the baby move. The fun part is that those baby kicks are starting to be obvious from the outside of the belly more! I'm excited about that because it means this baby is getting bigger and stronger!

Now that I am beyond the halfway point I am finding myself more anxious about starting some of the planning for his arrival. The room we will use as the nursery is currently in use as Kora's playroom. I am really sad to see the playroom space go...but super excited about getting it set up! We will still wait till April or May to really transition the room, but I have started to look at bedding and color options for baby boys room. I am in love with the idea of a monkey themed room. Here is the monkey decor I will sort of follow when decorating his room.

Another new Shoe Design

I made these shoes earlier in the week but hadn't gotten around to photographing them and getting them in the Etsy shop. I finally did that today though. Don't you just love these!?! I am just in love with how delicate they look. Plus the headband to match is so fun.....sorta makes me wish this baby on the way was a girl so I could dress her up and use her as my model. BUT, the boy on the way will hopefully get me more excited to make boy shoes. Here are a few pictures of the new shoes....
